Deshaun Watson is optimistic in his rehab from a knee injury, and taking a measured approach.
"Very confident in the work that I've been putting in," the Texans quarterback said Tuesday at NRG Stadium. "Just stay on the track the strength and conditioning coaches have me on. Just taking it one step at a time."
He and the Texans began offseason conditioning work on Monday at NRG Stadium, and he met with the media on Tuesday.
Watson said "there's no timetable" on his return to form.
Watson was lost for the season in early November with a knee injury. He started in Weeks 2 through 8, and played the second half of the season opener. In that span, he tossed 19 touchdowns and completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,699 yards. He and the Texans averaged over 40 points per game in the month of October, and fueled optimism about the future.
Watson and the Texans will continue offseason conditioning throughout the next month, and they'll begin OTAs (organized team activities) on May 21.
