What is the Houston Texans Fan Council?
The Fan Council is a volunteer group where fans will have the incomparable opportunity, through regular focus groups, to inform decisions that impact and enhance the Houston Texans and the fan experience. Topics include brand campaigns, fan experience, gameday entertainment, retail and much more.
Why does Houston Texans Fan Council exist?
The Houston Texans Fan Council was created to develop a platform where fans can directly co-create with the organization by participating in market research.
How do I become a Fan Council Member?
Becoming a Fan Council member is easy, all you must do is submit the online application to be considered.
Is being a Fan Council member confidential?
You can share that you're a member, however, the contents of each meeting are confidential and not to be shared. Each selected member will be required to complete a Confidentiality Agreement before participating.
How many Fan Council members will there be?
The Fan Council will consist of 60 members.
Do I have to apply online to be a Fan Council Member?
Yes. You must complete the application to be considered.
Do I have to be a Season Ticket Member to participate?
No, all Texans fans are welcome to apply to be on the Fan Council. The team's most avid fans, casual fans and new fans, along with representatives from current fan groups including Somos Texans and Battle Red Ladies will make up the group.
If a selected member no longer wants to be part of the Fan Council, what should they do?
If a selected member is no longer interested in serving on the Fan Council, the member should email the selection committee at FanCouncil@HoustonTexans.com as soon as possible to notify them of their decision.
Can I apply or nominate someone else to be on the Fan Council?
No. Each fan looking to be considered for the Fan Council must complete their own online application.
Is there an age limit to be a Fan Council member?
Yes. You must be 18 years or older to apply to be a Fan Council member.
How are Fan Council members selected?
Members of the Fan Council will be selected by a committee comprised of Houston Texans representatives.
What are benefits of being a Fan Council member?
Fan Council members will get inside access to the Texans decision making process and confidential plans, the opportunity to participate in in-person focus groups with Texans executives and limited partners, exclusive invites to Texans tentpole events and more.
There will not be any compensation for serving on the Fan Council. This is a volunteer program where fans will work hand in hand with the Houston Texans to enhance the organization.
Will the Fan Council travel?
No.
Where will meetings be held?
All meetings will be held at NRG Stadium.
If I cannot travel to the Fan Council meetings, will it be provided for me?
No. Travel provisions will not be provided by the Houston Texans.
I have a lot of opinions. Am I allowed to share my feedback?
Yes. Your opinions are encouraged and valuable to the Fan Council.
What will we be discussing in the Fan Council?
Meeting topics for the Fan Council may include but are not limited to Texans brand campaigns, fan experience, gameday entertainment, marketing, community efforts and so much more.
Will Fan Council members receive special offers?
No. Fan Council members will not receive special offers.
How long are the Fan Council meetings?
Fan Council meetings will be approximately 2 -3 hours long.
How long can I serve as a Fan Council member?
Members will serve on the Fan Council for two NFL Years (ex: 2023 NFL Draft to 2025 NFL Draft).
If selected as a member, can I serve two consecutive terms on the Fan Council?
Yes. All members must reapply to be part of the Fan Council for the following year.
If selected as a member, will I be required to attend every meeting?
Members are required to attend at least (5) council meetings throughout the term.
If selected as a member, can I bring my spouse, family member, children, or friends?
No. Due to the confidentiality of the Fan Council, we ask that you do not bring any guests who are not Fan Council members. Provisions for children will not be provided by the Houston Texans.

I do not want to submit a photo or video of myself. Can I still apply to be on the Fan Council?
Yes. Please email FanCouncil@HoustonTexans.com with the answers to all application questions along with a brief description of why you want to be part of the Fan Council.
I am unable to submit my application or upload a photo and video of myself. What do I do?
Please email FanCouncil@HoustonTexans.com with the answers to all application questions including the photo and/or video you would like to be included in the application.
