The Texans recently hired James Campen to coach the offensive line. Here are a dozen things to know about the veteran coach, who played center in the NFL in the 1980's and 1990's.
- Has been an NFL assistant coach since 2004
- Spent 2004 through 2018 with the Packers, rising from a quality control position ultimately to the team's offensive line coach and run game coordinator
- Won Super Bowl ring with Packers in 2010
- Hired by Cleveland in 2019 to be the Browns' offensive line coach and associate head coach
- Coached the Chargers' offensive line in 2020
- Played offensive line in the NFL for seven seasons
- Spent 1987 and 1988 with the New Orleans Saints, starting three of the six games in which he appeared
- From 1989 through 1993 Campen started 47 of 61 games for the Green Bay Packers

- Started college career at Sacramento State before transferring to Tulane
- Played high school ball at Ponderosa in Shingle Springs, California
- After NFL career finished, was an assistant and eventual head coach at Ponderosa High School
