2005 opponent update

Just one week remains in the 2004 regular season, but the Texans' 2005 list of opponents is still up in the air.

All but two opponents are determined in advance by the scheduling rotation the NFL instituted in 2002. The Texans will play the AFC North and NFC West next season. But two slots remain to be filled. At issue is whether the Texans or Jaguars finish second in the AFC South. Houston is currently one game behind Jacksonville but would finish second in the event of a tie by virtue of the Texans' season sweep.

If the Texans remain in third place, they would host Kansas City and travel to Buffalo. If Houston jumps up to second place, it would instead host the Broncos and make a return trip to the Meadowlands to face the Jets.

The remainder of Houston's 2005 opponents are listed below.
