Alfred Blue returned to practice on Thursday after missing the last two games with a calf injury.
"Feels great to be back out there, helping out your teammates and working toward a common goal," Blue said Thursday.
Blue was limited in his return, but hopes to play in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Bill O'Brien was optimistic about the third-year running back's progress after being inactice against Oakland and San Diego.
"Hopefully he can be back," O'Brien said. "He practiced today, looked pretty good out there. Good size, good special teams player, he's been productive for us in the past, obviously, so it would be good if we had him back."
In nine games this season, Blue has rushed for 225 yards on 46 carries and has made five special teams tackles.
The (6-5) Texans will travel to Lambeau Field to play the (5-6) Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CT on CBS and SportsRadio 610.
