An eventful beginning | Daily Brew

We got a good first look at the Texans of 2024 last night in Canton, Ohio.

Sorta.

C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson, Jr. and many other starters were not in pads. But the ones who were, donned the new Texans uniforms. The Liberty White jerseys and Deep Steel Blue pants looked sharp, and quarterback Davis Mills and the offense looked especially sharp on the first two drives of the game.

Andre Johnson will get enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is so close to the stadium, Mills could've been on the Texans sideline last night at midfield, turned his back to the gridiron, and hit the hall with a nice long spiral. 'Dre was interviewed during the first half of the game, and he's excited about bringing so many teammates along with him into the Hall.

Team Analyst/Radio Sideline Reporter John Harris broke down what he saw in the game, as only he can do, with his "Harris Hits".

Greg Rajan of the Houston Chronicle wrote this terrific piece about Texans Voice Marc Vandermeer, who was also the voice of the MIami Hurricanes during Johnson's time there.

Awesome article here by ESPN's D.J. Bien-Amie about Johnson's 273-yard walkoff touchdown day against the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012.
