In a season full of misery for the Houston Texans, Andre Johnson was a bright spot. He capped off a Pro Bowl campaign on Sunday with six catches for 49 yards. It brought his season totals to 109 receptions for 1,407 yards
But when asked about his 2013, the 11-year veteran was modest in his self-evaluation.
"I think I did okay," Johnson said. "I think I could've played better."
The 16-10 defeat in Tennessee dropped the Texans record to 2-14, and it ensured them of the number one overall pick in May's NFL Draft. After starting 2-0 with wins at San Diego and at home in overtime
over the Titans, Houston lost the final 14. The Texans are the only NFL team to ever lose 14 straight after beginning 2-0.
"Every year is not going to work out the way you want it to work out," Johnson said. "I just try to do the best I can with the opportunities I get."
Johnson also caught five touchdown passes this season. Only he and Marvin Harrison have four seasons of 100-plus receptions and 1,400-plus yards.
