Arian Foster won't play against the Browns.
The Texans running back is out for the Week 11 contest in Cleveland because of a groin injury.
"We'll do what's best for Arian Foster number one and then what's best for our team number two," head coach Bill O'Brien said on Friday.
Foster was injured in the Week 9 loss to the Eagles, and didn't practice on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. He leads the AFC with 822 rushing yards, and has averaged 102.1 yards per game in 2014. He's also scored 10 touchdowns this season, which is best on the team.
In his place, rookie Alfred Blue will start. The sixth-rounder from LSU has gained 234 yards on 68 carries. He caught a touchdown pass at Pittsburgh, and also blocked a punt and returned it for a scroe in Week 1 against Washington. On Thursday, Blue said his mindset was the same, whether Foster would start or not.
"I expect a heavier load every week," Blue said. "You just never know what might happen in the game. I prepare each week to be ready no matter what the situation is."
The Texans and Browns kickoff is at noon CT in FirstEnergy Stadium.
