The Texans finish their 2014 preseason on Thursday night against the 49ers at NRG Stadium. Bill O'Brien wants to win, first and foremost. But the head coach also ticked off a list of other goals he'd like the team to accomplish. They're listed below, in his words.
- "We want to come out of the game playing a smart football game,"
- "meaning don't turn it over,"
- "be good situationally,"
- "no line of scrimmage penalties,"
- "make sure that we don't have a bunch of missed assignments."
- "Make sure that our special teams do a really good job of tackling, protecting and trying to knock the ball loose."
- "Play smart on both sides of the ball,"
- "do a good job on third down,
- "(do a good job in) the red area,
- "and (do a good job in the) two minute (situation).
