Over the course of his football career, Brock Osweiler has had his fair share of coaches, but one has had quite an impressive win streak.
"My dad had an undefeated record in Pop Warner football," Osweiler said. "We did tie a game, but for three years, we were undefeated."
John Osweiler, who was present for his son's March signing with the Texans, is still one of his biggest supporters. He bought the first No. 17 Osweiler jersey in the Go Texan Store inside NRG Stadium. Osweiler works as head of security for RCS Carnival, the company that put on the carnival during Houston's Livestock Show and Rodeo.
With Father's Day approaching on Sunday, the quarterback reflected on his relationship with the coach who was a winner to him both on and off the field.
"Father's Day is a very special day," Osweiler said. "It's a day that means a lot to me. For me, personally, my father has done so much for me. I could never repay in any single way. I'm so appreciative for everything he has done for me. When I was young, he coached all my Pop Warner football teams. He coached the baseball team; he did everything. It's a day that I can show him my gratitude and appreciation. It's a special day."
