When the Philadelphia Eagles ran that play on fourth down just before halftime, it may have been one of the biggest moments of their Super Bowl matchup with the New England Patriots.
Running back Corey Clement took a direct snap, pitched it to tight end Trey Burton, who then threw a touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles for a gutsy trick play that many never saw coming.
Except for DeAndre Hopkins.
In fact, not one, but two current Texan players were involved in a nearly identical play on Oct. 6, 2012 while playing at Clemson. In a game against Georgia Tech, running back Andre Ellington took the direct snap from center, pitched it to Hopkins, who then completed a pass to Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd for a successful two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.
