Brock Osweiler has made three starts as the Houston Texans quarterback.
He's made 10 starts as an NFL signal-caller.
But he holds himself to a very high standard.
"I don't use my lack of starts as an excuse for anything," Osweiler said Wednesday. "I expect myself to play at an extremely high level. I have great confidence in my abilities and what I can do and I have
great confidence in the teammates around me to help me do my job."
Osweiler and the Texans host the Titans on Sunday at NRG Stadium, and the quarterback said he's continued to improve on a weekly basis.
"I feel like I get better every single week," Osweiler said. "I'm very comfortable with my reads. Certainly, I know I need to clean up my ball security issues with having four interceptions in three games. That is something that I will clean up."
Osweiler's completed 60 percent of his passes for 695 yards so far this season. He's thrown three touchdowns and four interceptions. Overall, head coach Bill O'Brien has liked what he's seen from Osweiler.
"I think the guy is playing pretty well," O'Brien said. "I know he's had some interceptions and obviously that's not good and we have to stop doing that. But when you watch the tape, based on what we've asked him to do, it's been pretty decent."
Titans head coach Mike Mularkey agreed.
"The more experience he's going to get, he's going to get better but he's got a really good pocket presence," Mularkey said.
Osweiler and the Texans will gun for their third win of the year at noon CT on Sunday.
