In nine games this season, Kris Brown has hit 18 of his 20 field goal attempts and each of his 19 extra points. Additionally, he's never made more than two field goals of 50 yards or beyond in one season, but he has converted all three of his kicks beyond 50 yards this year, including the 57-yard game-winner against the Miami Dolphins at Reliant Stadium. Also, his current conversion percentage (90 percent) is way ahead of his previous season-high field goal percentage of 86.2 percent in 1999.
Comparatively, only one kicker in the NFL (Tennessee's Rob Bironas - 20) has more field goals than Brown, and nobody has kicked a field goal longer than Brown this season.
So it's safe to say Brown is having a career season, and the writers at Pro Football Weekly seem to agree. In the magazine's annual Midseason All-Pro Team, Brown was chosen as the kicker.
