Texans guard Wade Smith spread some holiday cheer at the Houston Texans YMCA on Tuesday evening. The offensive lineman decorated Christmas cookies, wrote letters to Santa Clause and crafted homemade ornaments with the YMCA youngsters alongside Houston Texans Cheerleaders and TORO.
"It's an awesome feeling to come out and fellowship with the kids around Christmas time," Smith said. "Being able to do activities and give out presents and things of that nature is always a good time."
The children enjoyed dinner, compliments of Kroger, while listening to Christmas music and mingling with Smith. You would be hard pressed to find a face in the room that wasn't sporting a huge smile.
"It warms your heart," he said. "I have my own three daughters and my kids are fortunately blessed enough to have a dad that can provide them with basically whatever they want. There are a lot of kids in the world that don't have that, so just to put a smile on other kids' faces is a great feeling."
