Here inside NRG Stadium, we're gearing up on Texans TV and Texans Radio for the most coverage in the history of the franchise. Texans Radio is nearly back to a full schedule, broadcasting from 8-10am, Monday through Friday for the first two weeks of training camp on Sports Radio 610. You can also hear Texans 24, that's 24 hours a day of the best stuff, on TexansRadio.com.
Andre Ware and I will be back in the booth for our 13th year, with John Harris beginning his first campaign on the sideline. Harris, Deepi Sidhu and Drew Dougherty will help out with the extra radio shows during the week while gameday pre and post will feature a mix of our friends at Sports Radio 610.
Our full Monday through Friday schedule of Texans Radio programming will start after Labor Day. A couple of key highlights are Duane Brown Live on Tuesdays at 6pm from Houston Texans Grille and the Bill O'Brien Show, Mondays at five.
You've watched Extra Points on KTRK, ABC 13 for years on Saturday evening. Now, get ready for Texans Extra Points, Saturdays at 6:30pm with Drew Dougherty, John Harris and gues media members. Later on Saturdays, it's Texans Late Night at 11pm as Deepi Sidhu and I take a look at the lighter side of the Texans with a guest and plenty of features, all shot in front of a studio audience.
Texans Preseason TV games will have a new look and sound as Kevin Kugler steps into the booth with Spencer Tillman. Kugler works Sunday Night Football on Westwood One Radio and broadcasts for the Big Ten Network. He and Spencer will make one of the most entertaining, best prepared TV tandems in the league.
Last year, we launched three new shows on Fox Sports Southwest. Patti Smith is the queen of covering the Texans as the longtime host of Texans Huddle (Thursdays at 6pm). She also pilots Texans Weekly (Fridays at 6pm), Texans Countdown Live and Texans Wrap Live, our live pre and post game shows on FSSW. Former Astros Broadcaster Dave Raymond and former Texans QB Tony Banks are the studio team for the live shows. By the way, Banks told me he loves O'Brien's offense, which gives so much input to the quarterback at the line of scrimmage.
We're not done yet. In case you didn't know, Texans Gameday airs Sunday Mornings, during the regular season, on KPRC Local 2. Randy McIlvoy hosts with Chester Pitts as they interview Coach O'Brien and interview a player.
In case you've stopped counting, there are nine Texans TV shows on each week of the regular season. Not mentioned above are the long-running Inside the Game on KTRK and the Bill O'Brien press conference on Fox Sports Southwest.
This should be an interesting and exciting year and you'll see and hear it from every angle with the coverage of Texans TV, Texans Radio and our partners.
