Clowney talks NFL goals, rookie goals

At the 2014 NFL Rookie Symposium in Aurora, Ohio, Jadeveon Clowney opened up about what he wants to accomplish as an NFL player and as a rookie.

Topping his list, the first-overall draft pick wants to go head-to-head with another former No. 1 selection: Andrew Luck. Clowney praised the Colts starter but hoped to make a big play against the AFC South rival.

"My goal in the NFL is to sack Andrew Luck," Clowney said. "He's in my division. I'm playing him two times a year. He's a dangerous quarterback, very smart with the ball, he makes good decisions, so I just want to get after him and sack him one time."

Heading into his first NFL season, the outside linebacker wants to prove he simply belongs in the NFL and is worthy of playing alongside his teammates.

"My goal for the rookie season is to try to better myself as a player, learn a lot about the game, help my team win and just be the best Jadeveon Clowney on and off the field," Clowney said.

The Texans will host Indianapolis in Week 6 on Thursday night, October 9 and then will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 15 for their second matchup.
