Texans rookie running back Domanick Davis suffered a broken right hand Tuesday and is expected to miss three to five weeks, the club announced tonight.
Davis, the Texans' fourth-round draft pick out of LSU, injured the hand in a blocking drill during training camp practice this afternoon. X-rays later indicated a broken bone.
Davis had already impressed as a return specialist through four days of camp. He was also seeing reps as one of four backup running backs on the roster. Davis left Baton Rouge as LSU's all-time record holder in punt return (1,126) and kickoff return yards (2,078).
The
Texans return to the practice field tomorrow for their third set of
two-a-days. The first session is at 8:45 p.m.
