Deion Sanders has no doubt about who the best defensive player in the NFL is. Following Sunday's Pro Bowl game, Sanders tweeted:
@JJWatt is the BEST Defensive player in the NFL. What I saw today against All Pros and Pro Bowlers was a MAN amongst men!!!! Truth — DeionSanders (@DeionSanders) January 27, 2014
Sanders selected J.J. Watt to be one of his team captains, along with Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, to help him draft his Pro Bowl roster. During an in-stadium interview, Sanders was full of praise for the All-Pro whom he said "dominated" the game, despite the 22-21 loss to Team Rice. Watt
reciprocated the compliments from the Hall of Fame cornerback and kick returner.
"It was great," Watt said in an interview with Marc Vandermeer. "It was pretty cool. Obviously, Deion is one of the best ever so it's great to have a guy like him say that and we tried. We did everything that we could."
Watt spent most of his time in the backfield, pressuring Team Rice's quarterbacks. His second-quarter hit on Alex Smith caused an interception and he finished with 1 sack, 2 quarterback hits, and two passes defensed in his second-consecutive Pro Bowl appearance.
