Deshaun Watson and Ryan Griffin made a nice connection, a few times, during a third quarter scoring drive.
Watson hit Griffin for a 12-yard touchdown pass in the back right of the end zone, and the ensuing Ka'imi Fairbairn extra point made it a 28-27 game in favor of the Patriots. The score came on a 2nd-and-10 play, and there was 7:16 left in the third quarter.
Earlier in the drive, the Texans were facing a 2nd-and-22 at their own 34 when Watson scrambled to his left, threw across the field to the right and found a wide open Griffin for 35 yards. It moved the Texans to the New England 31 yard line.
A few plays later, the Texans were back in the end zone.
At that point, Watson had completed 16-of-21 passes for 177 yards, with two touchdown passes and an interception. Griffin had five catches for 61 yards.
