Draft day has arrived

After months of anticipation, one of the most exciting days of the offseason has arrived. The 2009 NFL Draft will commence today at 3 p.m. CT from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Texans coaches, scouts and personnel have been buried in draft meetings for weeks, making their final evaluations before running through dozens of mock drafts this week to prepare themselves for the next two days.

I'll be blogging throughout the weekend from the press box at Reliant Stadium (**check out my Day 1 blog from last year**). The Texans have eight picks in the draft and will pick twice today in the first two rounds at 15th and 46th overall. Rounds 3-7 will be tomorrow. It's the first time the Texans will have a second-round pick since 2006 - their '07 and '08 second rounders went to the Atlanta Falcons as part of the Matt Schaub trade.

So who will the Texans take at No. 15? Or will they trade down to stockpile more picks? Check out our final **HT.com 2009 Mock Draft**, in which John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has the Texans picking linebacker Clay Matthews III of USC.

Stay tuned to my blog for continued updates throughout the day. Check out all of our coverage this weekend on the **2009 Draft Central page**, the HoustonTexans.com headquarters for the 2009 draft.

And Brooke Bentley and I will be doing a **live chat** from 2-3 p.m. Come join the fun and talk about the draft.
