Final roster moves to be announced live

The Texans will finalize their 53-man roster Friday at a 3:30 p.m. CT press conference exclusively on Texans TV.

At 3:30 p.m. CT today, coach Gary Kubiak and general manager Rick Smith will hold a press conference at Reliant Stadium to announce the team's final roster cuts.

At the moment, the Texans have 75 players on their active roster. The NFL-mandated roster limit is 53 players, which the team must reach by the deadline Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. Nevertheless, the team doesn't want their personnel decisions to linger.

The Texans likely will announce their eight-man practice squad on Monday. Some of the players released today might re-join the team in that capacity once they clear waivers.
