Former Texan announces retirement

Former Texans offensive lineman Wade Smith announced his retirement after 12 seasons in the NFL. The 34-year-old Dallas native posted the news on his foundation's Instagram on Monday.

The Pro Bowl left guard started every game for the Texans from 2010 to 2013 and helped the team to a pair of AFC South titles in 2011 and 2012. In his spare time, he worked to promote literacy among school children through the Wade Smith Foundation.
