Wade Smith (6-4, 296) played in all 16 games and started nine for the Chiefs in 2009.
Unrestricted free agent guard Wade Smith, who spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, will visit with the Texans this weekend. Smith, who turns 29 in April, was a third-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2003.
A Dallas native, Smith (6-4, 296) played in all 16 games and started nine for the Chiefs in 2009. He played in 15 games with seven starts in 2008.
Smith has been a versatile contributor in his seven NFL seasons. He spent most of his time in Kansas City at right guard and center after working primarily at tackle earlier in his career. As a rookie, he started all 16 games at left tackle for the Dolphins. In two seasons with the New York Jets (2006-07), Smith worked at both tackle and center.
Smith played at Lake Highlands High School, where Texans defensive tackle Frank Okam also played. He spent his college career at Memphis.
