Giving back, getting a TIME honor and some praise | Daily Brew

Good Wednesday morning to you.

The Texans are back at practice on the fields at the Houston Methodist Training Center today. They're getting set for the Sunday slugfest with the Buffalo Bills.

Yesterday, the organization celebrated Founder's Day by donating $20,000 in a check presentation surprise ceremony at Austin High School just south of downtown. On October 6, 1999, the NFL awarded the 32nd franchise to Bob McNair and Houston. The Texans have celebrated that occasion over the last few years, and as part of that celebration this week, they gave the funds to the Mustangs' football program.

Where were you when you were on the last day of your 22nd year? C.J. Stroud, who turns 23 tomorrow, is at NRG Stadium right now, and he was honored by being named to the TIME 100 Next List.

I answered a few fan questions about stuff like the penalties, the Bills game and more in this mailbag.

The Houston Chronicle did a film room piece on wide receiver Nico Collins, and you can check it out here.

Tight end Cade Stover had a productive afternoon on Sunday. His lone catch was on 2nd-and-16 in the second quarter, and he galloped 27 yards for a first down. Later in the drive, Stroud hit Collins for a touchdown. Stover also had a key block on Stefon Diggs' first quarter touchdown run. KPRC-2's Aaron Wilson wrote more about the rookie from Ohio State.
