Green finishes the 2007 season with 260 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
HOUSTON - The Houston Texans have placed running back Ahman Green on injured reserve, it was announced today. The team also announced that quarterback Shane Boyd was signed to the active roster off of the practice squad.
Green (6-0, 218) played in six games, starting five for the Texans this season. He is second on the team with 260 rushing yards on 70 attempts and two touchdowns. Green suffered an injury to his left knee in the second game of the season at Carolina (9/16) which forced him to miss six games, including the last three. He has 8,751 yards and 56 touchdowns in his 10-year NFL career.
Boyd (6-1, 222) joined the Texans practice squad on 10/24 and spent the last seven weeks there. This marks his second stint on the 53-man roster of an NFL club. He was called up to the Arizona Cardinals active roster last season (12/26/06) prior to their season finale at San Diego (12/31/06). Boyd spent this spring with the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europa, where he completed 100 of 185 passes for 1,139 yards and five touchdowns. He went through training camp with the Cardinals before being released prior to the regular season (8/31).
