Happy Birthday...and a Victory Monday recap | Daily Brew

Man, Mondays are so much better after the Texans win.

The Good Guys are now 3-1 for the first time since 2016. They're atop the AFC South, with another 3-1 team headed to town next week in the Buffalo Bills. We'll dig into that whopper of a matchup in the days ahead, but let's rehash what we saw yesterday.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud was outstanding. He's now 6-1 in his career the week after a Texans loss, and he engineered the game-winning touchdown drive.

Team Analyst/Radio Sideline Reporter John Harris shined the spotlight on Stroud at the start of his "Harris Hits" article he wrote this morning.

Stroud's favorite target yesterday, and all season long, was Nico Collins. Another 100-yard performance, another touchdown catch, and he's off to the best 4-game start in a season in franchise history. All he needed, according to Stroud, was an opportunity.

Harris also had the "Big Play Breakdown" yesterday, pinpointing the handful of game-changing snaps throughout the triumph.

Voice of the Texans Marc Vandermeer shared his viewpoint on beating the Jags.

The offense got a lot of kudos after the victory. But the goal line stand in the second half, as Greg Rajan of the Houston Chronicle wrote, was a turning point.

Off the field, the Texans are helping out with Hurricane Helene relief efforts. They donated $1,000,000 to the cause.

Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MRS. MCNAIR!
