HOUSTON - Lone Star Sports and Entertainment announces today that individual game tickets for the InterLiga Championship will go on sale this Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. through all ticket outlets.
Reliant Stadium and the City of Houston are hosting the InterLiga Championship on Wednesday, Jan. 12 with the first game of the doubleheader beginning at 7 p.m. Houston hosted qualifying round games this past Jan., including the largest crowd of the tournament. Houston worked closely with Soccer United Marketing to secure the championship event for 2005.
Tickets will be available through TicketMaster outlets including all Foley's and Fiesta Stores, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, in person at Reliant Stadium and by phone at 713-629-2109.
InterLiga, which was held for the first time in Jan. 2004 in five cities across the United States, is the qualifying tournament that determines two automatic berths for Mexican clubs to the prestigious Copa Libertadores, the world-renowned competition that crowns the top soccer team in all of South America and Mexico.
The InterLiga tournament will begin January 5 and end with the doubleheader in Houston on January 12. Teams competing in InterLiga will be Atlante, Guadalajara (Chivas), Santos, Jaguares of Chiapas, Club America, Monterrey, Tigres and Toluca with the two top teams, decided in Houston, advancing.
