J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney both sat out of Wednesday's practice at the Houston Methodist Training Center.
"He's dealing with a minor injury, and I believe he'll be able to play," head coach Bill O'Brien said. "Jadeveon Clowney was sick today. He was suffering from a 24-hour bug. He wasn't out there at practice today."
Watt, who is dealing with a back issue, agreed that he would be ready to go for Sunday's game against Tennessee.
Also not practicing were Brandon Brooks (toe), Akeem Dent (hamstring), Kareem Jackson (ankle), Benardrick McKinney (concussion), Derek Newton (toe), and Cecil Shorts III (hamstring), according to the official injury report.
On Monday, O'Brien said Jackson would be "out for a while" and believes Brooks could return to practice this week. McKinney will be checked this week to see if he can play Sunday.
The Texans host the Titans on Sunday at noon C.T. before heading into their Week 9 bye.
