J.J. Watt is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, according to the newly-unveiled Madden NFL 21. The three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year earned a 98 overall rating in Madden NFL 21, second only to defensive end Aaron Donald (99) as well as a 97 strength rating, among the highest defensive ends, defensive tackles and outside linebackers. Here are the top five pass rushers ranked in Madden NFL 21:
- Aaron Donald (99)
- J.J. Watt (98)
- Khalil Mack (97)
- Von Miller (97)
- Fletcher Cox (96)
Despite having undergone season-ending pectoral surgery last year, Watt led the league with 21 quarterback hits through eight games. He also added 24 total tackles (15 solo), four tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He came off injured reserve in time for the Texans Wild Card Round against Buffalo and landed a crucial third-quarter sack on Josh Allen that energized the NRG Stadium crowd. In his two playoff appearances, Watt recorded two total tackles (one solo), one tackle for loss, 1.0 sack, two quarterback hits and one pass defensed.
Watt is no newbie to the Madden list, earning a 99 rating in four previous editions of the EA game (2014-17).
Madden NFL 21 will be released worldwide on August 25.
