Jadeveon Clowney was at Wednesday's practice inside the Houston Methodist Training Center, but he wasn't with his teammates.
The outside linebacker, who missed last Sunday's win over the Jaguars with a foot injury, worked on the side while the Texans practiced.
"Jadeveon Clowney was moving around decent today," head coach Bill O'Brien said. "But I still would put him in the day-to-day category."
Clowney had 4.5 sacks in 2015, and played in 13 games for the Texans this season.
Wide receiver Nate Washington also worked on the side, as he left the Week 17 contest with a hip injury.
Houston hosts the Chiefs on Saturday at 3:35 p.m. CT inside NRG Stadium.
