At the Texans' annual All Access event for season ticket holders last night, several members of the team got up on stage on the Reliant Stadium floor and spoke to the thousands of fans gathered before them.
One of them was Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson, whose words nearly sent the crowd into a frenzy.
"I'm very happy – for anybody that has any doubt in their mind – I'm very happy to be back here in Houston," Johnson, who **sat out the first three days of organized team activities** because of contract-related issues, said emphatically.
And then, after a short pause:
"Everybody beats up the word 'playoffs,' but I have a bigger goal in mind. Let's get to the Super Bowl."
An estimated 9,500 fans attended All Access. They got a tour of the team facilities, and every Texans player was there along with several coaches, general manager Rick Smith, owner Bob McNair and the Texans Cheerleaders to sign autographs.
"I enjoy this event every year that we have it," Johnson said to the crowd. "To see all you guys out here at this time of the year is awesome. It just shows what type of fans you are. I always say you guys are the number one fans in the NFL, so that's a compliment to you guys."
