Kevin Johnson gets his Texans wish

Hours before his name was called as the Texans' first round pick at 16, cornerback Kevin Johnson speculated about heading to Houston.

"It would be awesome," the Wake Forest product said. "I grew up watching cornerbacks like Johnathan Joseph, and Kareem Jackson is a real good cornerback."

Johnson added that learning "from a group of guys like that would be awesome."

Also, getting to play on the same side of the ball as the 2014 NFL Defensive Player of the Year in J.J. Watt had the former Demon Deacon excited.

"No doubt! No doubt! That would definitely make things a little bit easier," Johson said.

He joins a secondary with Joseph and Jackson as the starters. A.J. Bouye, Jumal Rolle and Andre Hal all got playing time in 2014 as well.

Meet CB Kevin Johnson, the newest member of the Houston Texans.
