Lechler passes Manning in record books

On Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium, Shane Lechler passed a former Colt in the record books.

With his 267th game played, Lechler passed Peyton Manning for the 23rd-most career games played in NFL history. The six-time All-Pro punter has played in 235 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Lechler has solidified his place in the NFL record books as one of the best at his position. The 40-year-old veteran is the league's all-time leader in gross punting average (47.5) and holds the three of the top eight single-season punting averages in NFL history.

The Texans checked in at Lucas Oil Stadium before their Week 14 showdown with the Colts.
