Mexican National Team soccer coach Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre and director of national teams Héctor González Iñárritu hosted a news conference on Monday to preview the team's upcoming match against Nigeria on Friday, May 31, at Reliant Stadium. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was present at the Spanish-speaking press conference to exchange No. 8 jerseys with coach Chepo, who wore the number a player.
"It's very cool to be here for this event in preparation for their match at the end of next month," Schaub said. "To meet a guy like Coach Chepo knowing what his career was like and how great a player he was and wore number eight, it's pretty cool to receive a No. 8 (Mexico) jersey of his with my name on it."
