Matt Schaub took part in a community appearance on Wednesday night at the Houston Texans YMCA, and also chatted a bit about football.
The Texans quarterback is "staying in shape" and said he's been working out since late January. He's also had a chance to get together with new head coach Bill O'Brien.
"I met with him very briefly," Schaub said. "Just a short conversation. But it was very productive. It was while he was still trying to get the rest of the staff together and go through that process. As well
as transitioning to Houston."
Even though it was a quick encounter, Schaub came away impressed with O'Brien.
"Very enthusiastic, and a great coach," Schaub said. "Just very intelligent. Knows football. Knows offense and knows the game. Very productive. Very intense about what he does."
All those attributes, according to the 10-year pro, are "what we like as players".
The Texans can begin offseason workout programs on April 7.
