What does being a teacher mean to you?
Being a teacher means a lot to me. I had a 14 year career in a different field before making the decision to teach a year ago. I have only been teaching for a year and it has given me much fulfillment. I have seen the impact I have made on so many in such a short time. I teach high school students readiness for college. I enjoy watching the students grow into young adults. The great thing about teaching older students is that we both are able to learn from each other. They keep me up to date with the new trends and lingo and I'm able to guide them through decisions that will impact their future.

What does being a Texans fan mean to you?
I have been a fan of the Houston Texans since they arrived in 2002. My family has also been loyal season ticket holders since the beginning. Through their ups and downs. #HTOWN4LIFE

What does being a teacher mean to you?
Teaching means being compassionate, understanding while creating a positive learning environment. One of my favorite things about teaching is guiding my young students' decisions while understanding their strengths and weaknesses. My goal with every student is to foster their wildest dreams and imagination. Teaching means not only giving our students the best education possible but also encouraging them to think for themselves and build a foundation of principles.

What does being a Texans fan mean to you?
I have been a Texans season ticket holder since the beginning. Through the years I have met some extraordinary people and made great memories with family and friends. My section has become my gameday Texans family as we watched our kids grow up together and bonded over our Texan loyalty. My favorite Texans gameday tradition is a high five with my section's game attendant. He always has a smile on his face and is just as excited as I am for the game. A question I am often asked by others (mostly Cowboy fans) is why I drive 100 miles one way to watch the Texans. My reply is emphatically "Go Texans."

How does it feel to know you are representing the Houston Texans at the NFL Draft?
The first two adjectives that come to mind when describing how I feel to be representing the Houston Texans at the draft is ecstatic and elated. While I am always proud to wear my Texans gear, this experience will be so special to me. My many years of watching the Texans play have given me so much pride in the team. I have shared this pride with my family, friends and students through the years. It will be such a pleasure to be able to share this joy with the entire NFL and remind them We are Texans!

What does being a teacher mean to you?
Being a teacher gives me the opportunity to work with really cool students every day. In our classroom, we learn together and I like to think I inspire young people in creative ways. I challenge students to think independently and be better citizens.

What does being a teacher mean to you?
Being a teacher means to me to always be a life-long learner, a listener, a role model, creative, a multi-tasker I never knew I was capable of being, and flexible when lessons don't go the way I planned. Most importantly I have learned that for me being a teacher means to have unconditional love for students: to never give up on them when they struggle academically, social emotionally or when they have a bad day. To continue to teach them, read to them, be their listening ear, laugh with them because no matter what happens they deserve the best educator in me to love them and teach them every day… unconditionally.

What does being a Texans fan mean to you?
As a Texans fan, it means spending Sundays with my family enjoying a sport we love and have watched together for as long as I can remember. Keeping the tradition of football with family strong throughout the years as Texans fans has been an annual tradition and will continue for years to come. Being a Texans fan also means that I am a part of the city culture of supporting our hometown team that in return contributes to and supports education across the city as well.

How does it feel to know you are representing the Houston Texans at the NFL Draft?
As a Houstonian, I am excited to represent our home team during the NFL Draft this year. I think it is an honor as both a fan and educator to represent two very different fields for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the Texans.

It is my job to empower those alongside me in reaching their full potential. I want our students to know that they exception, they are extraordinary, they are phenomenal and they are loved!

To be a Texans fan means trusting the process of building a world champion organization. Our day is coming. Go Texans!

How does it feel to know you are representing the Houston Texans at the NFL Draft?
I am beyond words and super excited. It's truly an honor to represent H-Town in Cleveland, Ohio.

Last fall, Janice S. McNair, co-founder and senior chair of the Houston Texans, donated $50,000 to support the construction of a new playground at Mission of Yahweh. The Mission of Yahweh is a faith-based shelter that has been empowering, enriching and restoring the lives of homeless women and children and provides outreach services to low-income communities since 1961.
