NFL announces Las Vegas as site of 2021 Pro Bowl

The 2021 NFL Pro Bowl is moving west to Las Vegas, the league announced Tuesday.

After a brief stint in Orlando, the annual game of all-stars will take place at Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on January 31. Representing the AFC, Deshaun Watson has played in the past two Pro Bowls at Orlando's Camping World Stadium. This year, starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil was also named to his first career Pro Bowl following a stellar 2019 season.

With the Raiders' move to Vegas, the NFL is also shifting some of its biggest events to the famous Strip. The 2020 NFL Draft was originally planned for Las Vegas, but cancelled amidst the COVID-19 concerns. Las Vegas has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic with hotels, shows and casinos going dark for months. Casinos and hotels have slowly opened back up earlier this month, along with much of the country.

The NFL 2020 season is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, September 10 with the Texans at Kansas City.
