Now that Brett Favre has decided to stay retired and not join the Minnesota Vikings, former Texan Sage Rosenfels is back in competition with Tarvaris Jackson for the Vikings' starting quarterback job. And that means Texans fans will see a lot of Sage when the Vikings come to Reliant Stadium on Aug. 31 for a Monday night preseason game.
Rosenfels was a popular figure for much of his three-year stint as a backup in Houston. The Minnesota game falls in Week 3 of the preseason, which is always the most competitive game because teams often play their starters for three quarters. If Sage is in the Vikings' starting lineup, the game will turn into a battle between Matt Schaub and his former backup (at least for two or three quarters, anyway).
As for Rosenfels, he's **taking the high road** and trying not to let the Vikings' pursuit of the aging Favre affect his psyche. There'll be a lot of players in the Texans' locker room pulling for him to finally get a chance to be a starter.
