Okoye in the news as he gets set for trip to Nigeria

Here's a **nice read** on Texans defensive tackle Amobi Okoye and his upcoming mission trip to Nigeria from the Katy Times newspaper. Okoye had a press conference at Reliant Stadium last Friday to discuss his trip with the media.

A resident of Katy, Okoye received a donation of approximately 30,000 school books from the Katy Rotary Club and Katy Independent School District for his March 12-21 trip. He will be traveling to Nigeria, his native country, with teammate Frank Okam and a team doctors and nurses from the Africa Cancer Center, Inc.

The primary goals of Okoye's **third-annual trip** are to introduce American football to the continent of Africa and to promote education through his Changing Africa Through Education scholarship program. Okoye awarded 28 college scholarships to Nigerian student-athletes last year.
