There are more players from Ole Miss than any other university on the Texans roster.
With four former Rebels, the University of Mississippi is the most-represented school for Houston.
Left tackle Laremy Tunsil, safety A.J. Moore, receiver Donte Moncrief and running back Scottie Phillips all played their college ball in Oxford, Mississippi. Florida State, Central Florida and Iowa each have three former player on the Texans.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Texans dipped into the Pac-12 twice for picks, selecting Stanford quarterback Davis Mills in the third round, and Arizona defensive lineman Roy Lopez in the sixth. The Big 10 was represented by Michigan receiver Nico Collins, while the ACC saw Miami (FL) tight end Brevin Jordan selected. The Texans took a Big 12 player in TCU linebacker Garret Wallow.
Those five rookies, along with some undrafted free agents and a handful of other young players on the roster will soon take place in the team's rookie camp at NRG Stadium and the Houston Methodist Training Center. All are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccination while in town.
