Texans head coach Gary Kubiak spoke to the media after practice on Friday, his team's final session before they face the Colts this Sunday at Reliant Stadium.

(on the safety situation) "(S) Will (Demps) didn't practice again today. So, he's a game time decision, but he did not practice today. So, we'll go with those four guys. (CB) Eugene (Wilson) is playing safety this week. So, it's just basically Eugene becomes a safety and we'll have a three-man rotation."
(on who he would start) "We would have (S) Nick (Ferguson) and (S Brandon) Harrison as our starters."
(on how he feels about the safety position going against this team) "Well, that was one of our deepest positions going into camp, one of our deepest positions. We're getting tested and tested at a very opportunistic time, a tough time, the team we're playing. But, Nick's (Ferguson) played a lot of football. Brandon's (Harrison) been very, very encouraging. I'm excited to see those guys play, excited to see those guys step up and see Eugene (Wilson). That's why we brought him here. So, we'll see where we're at."
(on DT Jeff Zgonina saying the defensive line was in a slump) "Football is that way for every position. You can be struggling at one spot, and all of the sudden you go out one day and have a great day and your confidence just lifts and goes forward. It doesn't matter whether you're a d-line, a quarterback, a receiver, things aren't going good for you, just keep plugging. They're working hard. We've tried some different combinations, trying to create some things, but we need them to play well this weekend."
(on what he thinks about G Chester Pitts starting every game and only missing two plays) "That's pretty impressive. In this league to hold up week in and week out and to be there every week, I wasn't here for the first three or four years for him, but he's been there every week for us. He doesn't miss practice. That's why he's a great player."
(on if G Chester Pitts has been blessed not to have had any injuries) "Yeah, I think there are certain players that health-wise they tend to hold up. He's got a good body. He takes care of himself. He works really hard. Those are guys that usually hang in there and play a long time."
(on if there are any other health issues with the team) "No. (RB) Ahman (Green) practiced today. So, he was OK. We did not practice (LB) DeMeco (Ryans) today, but I do plan on him being ready to go, but we'll see. We'll work him out."
(on LB DeMeco Ryans) "I'm just trying to be smart with him. That's what we're doing. He takes reps mentally. He didn't need them physically. The other guys needed them. So, we just really rested him today."
