Kubiak announced that wide receiver Andre Johnson and guard Kasey Studdard will not play.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak spoke to the media on Friday after the team's final practice in preparation for Sunday's T-N-T Rivalry Game at Reliant Stadium against the Tennessee Titans.
Head coach Gary Kubiak
(on if there is anything new today) "No, nothing new. Everybody's fine, ready to go. Of course Andre (Johnson)'s not going to play this week, y'all know that. But he is making progress. He ran a lot today, did some cutting, so he's taken a step forward this week."
(on the team captains) "Just our normal guys, then our game captains are Owen Daniels, Anthony Weaver and Earl Cochran."
(on if there was anything else different announced in the post-practice huddle) "No, we were just giving one player a hard time. Nothing new."
(on if he could explain that) "No, that's alright. Can't give y'all that scoop. That's privileged information."
(on who he gave a hard time) "The day is so beautiful, y'all are even having a hard time working today. I'm telling you (laughs). Y'all enjoy your afternoon. How about that, OK? Is that alright?"
(on how the running backs look in practice) "It's fine. Ahman (Green) and Ronnie (Dayne) will go. Ahman and Ronnie will go, and I think Ahman's taking steps forward. We tried to be smart in how we practiced him early in the week, but it looks like his legs are slowly coming back. So him getting better every week is a big factor for our football team, so hopefully he can continue to step forward."
(on if his offensive line will be the same) "Yes, everything's the same. I had planned on suiting eight. I had planned on suiting (Kasey) Studdard, but he's going to be out for a little while, don't know how long. So as of right now we'll suit our seven and do what we've normally been doing."
