It was a drizzly morning outside at the Methodist Training Center as the Texans practiced for the final time before their Monday Night Football clash with the Titans.
Jonesing for action: Wide receiver/return man Jacoby Jones practiced on Friday more than he had since the Tuesday of the bye week. He had been bothered by a calf injury suffered in the Colts' game but was back on the field this morning catching passes.
Afterward, head coach Gary Kubiak spoke about Jones' status.
"He did a little more today," Kubiak said. "He made progress today. He'll be a game-time decision."
Jones participated in special teams work a few days this week but was on the sidelines during the bulk of team drills. Today was a different story, but Kubiak wouldn't go as far as saying that Jones was a lock to suit up against Tennessee.
"Obviously, I feel better about him today," Kubiak said. "But I think there's still some progress to make between now and game time. But we've got two-and-a-half days, so I'll see."
The Texans' head coach said there were no other health concerns on his club.
Friends and family day: Saturday morning's practice was open to family and friends of Texans' employees. Various wives, sons, daughters and others braved the dreary weather to take in the last bit of work by the team. Former Texans defensive end N.D. Kalu also was there, as was the *Monday Night Football *crew of Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden.
Afterward, the friends and family attend a BBQ lunch with the coaches and players in the Verizon West Club of Reliant Stadium.
