With kickoff just minutes away, the Chiefs' mascot, either a wolf or coyote (hard to tell, and hard to figure out the significance of either animal in relation to the Chiefs), did a lackluster drop kick of a stand-in actor wearing a No. 55 Texans jersey at midfield. I have a biased viewpoint, but I'll say it without reservation: TORO is much better.
The Texans were greeted by a loud chorus of boos just now when they ran on to the field. Arrowhead Stadium is only about halfway full right now, but the Chiefs fans who are here are living up to their hardcore billing.
Time for the national anthem in a few minutes.
