Don't forget about the preseason.
On Wednesday night the NFL celebrated the 2021 schedule release. While most eyes, understandably, were focused on the regular season slate, the preseason schedule also was unveiled.
With 17 regular season games, the League cleaved off a preseason game, and each team will play just a trio of exhibition games.
The Texans begin their preseason on the road at Green Bay, play their second game at Dallas, before returning home and concluding the preseason against Tampa Bay.
In 2019, Houston practiced with the Packers before the two squared off at Lambeau Field in each club's preseason opener. The Cowboys are a mainstay on the preseason schedule, and a trip to Arlington will happen for the first time since 2019. The reigning Super Bowl champs, meanwhile, are the lone contest at NRG Stadium this preseason. Because the Texans host nine games in the regular season, they only get to play one preseason game at NRG Stadium. In 2022, Houston will hit the road for nine road games in the regular season. They'll get two home preseason dates next year.
