The names, faces, hands, feet and tendencies of the Texans punter and kicker have changed since the start of 2010. But the guy snapping the ball has remained the same.

Jon Weeks was selected to the Pro Bowl after six steady seasons on the job as long snapper. He entered the NFL the same year as fellow Pro Bowl snapper Morgan Cox from the Ravens. Those two were in Hawaii this week, and Cox said the Texans are fortunate to have Weeks.

"He's been awesome, and great for that operation," Cox said. "He's had a couple guys come in and out, but he's been steady. You guys got a great guy, and good snapper too."

With his head between his legs, Weeks has whizzed spirals straight and true towards four different kickers and four different punters in his time as a Texan. With the hire of Larry Izzo, Weeks will play for his third different special teams coordinator. But his continued excellence has remained the constant in Houston.

"There's only 32 of them in the NFL, so he's gotta be great," Baltimore punter Sam Koch said. "I enjoy working with him. He's got a great snap. Great technique. He's got Shane Lechler in Houston, so he's learning from the best punter in the NFL, with 7 Pro Bowls."

Koch teamed up with Weeks and kicker Dan Bailey for Team Irvin on Sunday at Aloha Stadium in the Pro Bowl. That unit was flawless, and they contributed to the 49-27 triumph over Team Rice. Weeks only had a few days to become accustomed to tendencies and preferences of that pair, but it didn't matter. He was able to get the ball there the way they wanted.

"We're such a unit," Weeks said. "When you get a kicker and a punter that I'm not used to, we just gotta iron it out. Make sure the laces are where they need to be. The timing is where it needs to be. Just try to make it as crisp as possible."

It was crisp enough for Bailey to drill all five of his extra points, and Koch to blast away a pair of punts with ease.

"I worked with two good guys, who made me look good as always," Weeks said. "I'm very fortunate to be out here."

Weeks and the Texans will gather for offseason conditioning in mid-April at NRG Stadium and the Houston Methodist Training Center.
