Good Thursday morning to you.
We hope your 2025 is off to a roaring start.
Four Texans found out some good news this morning when the Pro Bowl selections were announced. Cornerback Derek Stingley, Jr., left tackle Laremy Tunsil, wide receiver Nico Collins and running back Joe Mixon were picked from the Texans. It's the first time for Collins and Stingley, while Mixon's back for a second go-round, and Tunsil's in for the fifth time.
Also, several Texans were named as alternates, so they have a good chance of going as well. Remember: if a player selected for the Pro Bowl is playing in the Super Bowl, he won't be able to go. Also, other players are injured and can't make it either.
Defensive end Dylan Horton is the team's Ed Block Courage Award winner. After appearing in 10 games last year as a rookie, Horton missed the latter chunk of 2023 with Stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma. He fought back and was back on the field this year.
The Texans have the regular season finale on Sunday at Tennessee. Win or lose, they're locked into the fourth seed and will host a Wild Card Playoff game next weekend at NRG Stadium. They'll play either the Steelers, Chargers or Ravens, and there's a chart below that shows you the scenarios in which each of those matchups could arise.
