Brian Hoyer was back at practice on Wednesday.
The Texans worked in the late morning and early afternoon at the Houston Methodist Training Center, and Hoyer took part.
Head coach Bill O'Brien said Hoyer remains in the concussion protocol.
"He has been cleared to practice, on a limited basis," O'Brien said. "But not been cleared to play yet."
The veteran quarterback suffered a concussion in the second half of the loss to New England, and was inactive for last Sunday's win at Indianapolis.
T.J. Yates started in place of Hoyer, but left the game in the second half with a torn ACL. Brandon Weeden guided the Texans to a triumph over the Colts.
So far in 2015, Hoyer's thrown 18 touchdowns and six interceptions, and completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 2,357 yards.
The Texans will practice again Thursday, and then be off on Friday for Christmas. They'll fly to Nashville on Saturday and kickoff against the Titans is at noon CT in Nissan Stadium.
