AIEA, Hawaii -- After the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Texans defensive end J.J. Watt spoke about his experiences in the game at Aloha Stadium and in Hawaii for the week.
DE J.J. Watt
(on the experience of playing in the game) "Losing sucks even if it is an All-Star game. It's never fun. Frustrating, but it's all about the week. It's all about having fun, interacting with the guys, and it's been a great week."
(on the rules putting pressure on him to make plays) "The rules kind of make it very bland, but we do what we can."
(on his bloody left hand) "My hand? It's doing alright, man. It's doing alright. It's all wrapped up. I'm going to go get some stitches after this and we'll be just fine.
(on what happened to his hand) "Just got cut open. I didn't even realize how bad it bled, but it bled pretty good. I'm alright, though."
(on if he hit on somebody's helmet) "I think it might have been on that first pass. That's football. It's not fun if you're not going to get bloody."
(on why he didn't think about sitting out after that happened since it was just an all-star game) "I'm sure guys thought… I'm not going to sit out. I like to play football. It's fun, so just trying to enjoy it."
(on catching passes from Peyton Manning before the game and going out for a pass in the game) "It was really cool. Obviously would like to have scored a touchdown there. But catching balls from him before the game, a future Hall of Famer, it's a blast to be able to do things like that."
(on the Pro Bowl experience overall) "It's been great. It's been a great week. The people of Hawaii have been very nice. All the other guys, to interact with them has been great. It's been a lot of fun and I've got to say thank you to everyone who voted me in and hope I can come back for many years. But I hope I'm playing next week for many years, too."
