R. Walker practices

Texans SS Ramon Walker started practicing with the team on Wednesday, November 3.  Walker was placed on Physically Unable to Perform (P.U.P) before training camp. 

Walker spent the last month of the 2003 season on the Reserve/Injured list for a torn ACL. Despite being placed on IR on December 2, 2003, Walker led the Texans special teams in tackles with 17 stops, one punt block and one field goal block.

P.U.P Rules

Players placed on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform are allowed to begin practicing with the team after the conclusion of the sixth regular season weekend and continuing after the conclusion of the ninth regular season weekend. The practice period is not to exceed 21 days. Any time during that 21-day period, teams are allowed to restore the player to the Reserve/PUP list of to the active roster.

Houston has two players that remain on P.U.P. Rookie QB B.J Symons is recovering from a knee injury he sustained in college and TE Bennie Joppru who injured his groin during workouts in 2003. He spent the entire 2003 season on the Reserve/Injured list.
